Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)

A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) allows individuals age 70½ or older to give directly from an IRA to a qualified nonprofit. Because the gift goes directly from your IRA to charity, the donated amount may be excluded from your taxable income. For many donors, this can reduce overall tax liability, help satisfy Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) if applicable, and provide a tax-efficient way to support causes they care about.
